Volunteers from the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) gathered at Finca La Industria, to participate in an event dedicated to children who are local refugees after surviving the eruption of the Volcano of Fire, located 60 km (about 37 miles) from Guatemala City, which occurred on June 3, 2018.
Activists for peace from 18 countries in America and Europe traveled to Guatemala to participate in the 4th Peace Integration Summit (CUMIPZ 2018) and to be part of the GEAP's maximum event, held with the purpose of creating a space for dialogue to strengthen the integral peace and happiness of the human being and Mother Earth.
Each volunteer carries out different financial activities in order to obtain the necessary funds to attend CUMIPAZ, convinced that their participation will contribute to the achievement of the goals the institution has in favor of peace.
Out of love for others
Rosa María Ayala, GEAP volunteer, arrived from Santiago de Chile to Guatemala with her daughters Arelis and Leticia Vargas, singers of the Symphonic Orchestra of the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (OSEMAP).
To make her trip to this Central American country possible, Ayala established a family business selling food and clothing, and thus generates the resources to cover travel expenses.
“My daughters sing in the events carried out by the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace; they perform social work in favor of the human family," she said.
Arelis Vargas said that she attended Finca La Industria because, by singing, she brings children a gift of love.
“What motivates me to be a volunteer of the GEAP is helping others, and I do this from my heart,” she concluded.
Thanks to the effort, dedication, and her love for others, Rosa María Ayala, and her daughters Arelis and Leticia contribute significantly to society through their altruistic participation and strive for the establishment of freedom, justice, and world peace.
